Barbecue sauce

Fifteen minutes, and you make it at home
Tomato paste, garlic, and onion browned, deglazed with water and apple cider vinegar. Then mustard, soy sauce, and smoked paprika, cooked for ten minutes.
Very Dark maple syrup is added at the end: that's what makes it shiny.

What is needed
Serves 4 people.
300g tomato paste
2 cloves garlic
½ onion
30 ml apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon of water
2 tablespoons Very Dark Pure Maple Syrup
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and chili pepper
Six steps
The basis
Pour the tomato paste into a saucepan with garlic and onion and mix well.
Fades
Bring to temperature and, when the vegetables begin to brown, deglaze with water and vinegar.
The spices
Remove the garlic and add mustard, soy sauce, and smoked paprika. Continue cooking for 10 minutes.
Consistency
For a creamier sauce, blend it with some of the onion used in cooking; for a milder taste, remove all the onion.
The syrup
Once cooked, add it to make the sauce glossy, then season with salt and chili pepper.
Cool
Use it to glaze grilled meat or to flavor burgers.
Two things to know
Add the syrup after turning off the heat. Cooking it will cause it to lose its shine and only the sweetness will remain.
Homemade, it has no preservatives: it can be stored in the fridge, in a sealed jar, for a few days.
The ingredient
The variety used in this recipe. Very Dark, intense flavor: the boldest of the four, for long cooking times.
