Porridge with caramelized bananas in maple syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 45 g oat flakes
  • 125ml vegetable milk of your choice
  • 125ml water
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of MapleFarm Pure Maple Syrup – Dark
  • sliced almonds
  • 1 orange

Instructions

  • Divide the banana in two.
  • Mash the first half and put it in a saucepan with oatmeal, a teaspoon of cinnamon, salt, milk and a teaspoon of maple syrup
  • Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes, stirring.
  • Then turn down the heat and cook until it reaches a good density (about 6 minutes).
  • Meanwhile, cut the remaining banana in half.
  • Preheat a pan and add a tablespoon of maple syrup and a teaspoon of cinnamon, stir and add the two banana halves.
  • Cook until well caramelized, turning occasionally.
  • Once cooked, pour the oatmeal into a deep bowl, garnish with the almond slivers, sliced orange, and caramelized banana.
  • Serve piping hot. Those with a sweet tooth can garnish with more maple syrup.
